Last nights ToD ball was an amazing success.

What a fantastic evening..... With the help and support of the guests at last nights Inaugural ToD ball we managed to raise over £3,000.
The hall looked amazing with the pumpkin table decorations (made and carved by children and supporters of ToD on Friday) and the evening kicked off with a speech by Dr Neil Wright giving an explanation of how life for children with ToD is affected. He also shared with us how the funds raised would be supporting valuable research at Sheffield Children's Hospital, looking at the most appropriate and effective education tools teaching children and their families/carers how to manage the disease whilst reclaiming some of the independence they lose as a result of it and hopefully preventing longterm health issues.
Then we sat down to a delicious meal expertly cooked by the chefs from kudos catering based at the hall while being entertained by the mesmerizing, slight of hand of magician Mark Maycock.
After dinner the amazingly powerful voice of jazz singer John Colgrave took us into a game of 'heads & tails' won by Andrew Rodgers.
The evening was successfully managed by the immensely skilled toastmaster and auctioneer Robert Leeming who was instrumental in raising a staggering £1, 930.
Due to the generous raffle donations and a very guick tally we are aware that a further £1,000 was raised from raffle sales. The final amount will be communicated tomorrow once we have counted and collected all the donations.
All in all there was lots of laughter and fun and a great time was had by all.

The support received was overwhelming and we thank each and every one of you for helping make a difference to the lives of kids with type 1 diabetes in Sheffield.
