Well, what a day.....

In the end 67 children, 9 half marathon runners and 41 adults made up Team ToD at today's Half marathon and 3k fun run and every single one of you was fantastic.

We are still waiting on the official finish times for the marathon runners in the team but we know that all finished within 2hrs 10mins, with Jack 1st past the post at 1hr 38mins. Once all the times are available we will put them on the blog.

The children running the fun run were amazing. Special mention to Annabel (8) and Sofia (5) who participated on their birthday. Unfortunately 2 of the team had minor bumps and have gone home with sore knees, but this didn't stop either of them completing the challenge. Well done Laura and Katie.

We never imagined that the team would grow the way it has. There are some very special people who have supported the success of the team for the last 2 years and you know who you are. This year we would like to say a very special thank you to David and Annabel Wales who have helped printing, awareness, IT, along with participating in the half marathon today and David (official ToD photographer) standing for 4 hours at the side of the track taking photos, despite breaking his leg on Thursday night and sporting a toe to thigh plaster cast.

Watching all involved running in the ToD t-shirt was fantastic and emotional and we believe together we have raised lots of local awareness and funds into type 1 diabetes in Sheffield.

Thank you to each and everyone of you for participating.

See you next year!
Clare & David.
P.s photos to follow.

  1. Still buzzing from an incredible day. Well done to you both for organising such a successful event. The photos are fantastic and had a little weep when I saw the blue army of fun runners setting off and coming back. Such an emotional day which we will never forget and the money keeps rolling in. The profile of TOD is well and truly out there and that is down to the you Pye's - well done. Xxxxxxx
